Being God’s child does not mean that life will never be difficult. It doesn’t mean you will never fail, experience rejection, or walk through seasons of uncertainty.
It means that none of those things can define you or give you an identity.
You can go through a difficult season and still say,
“I am God’s child.” Your situation may change, but your identity remains.
And perhaps this is one of the greatest things we fail to understand:
Your worth does not begin with what you do. It begins with who you are.
Identity should produce behaviour.
Knowing that you are God’s child should eventually affect the way you live.
If you truly believe you are God’s child, you should carry that identity with you wherever you go.
Not as pride.
Not as a sense of superiority.
But as confidence in the One you belong to.
A child of God should not have to live desperately chasing the world’s approval because they already know where their ultimate acceptance comes from.
A child of God should not have to compromise their values just to fit in.
A child of God should be able to walk away from things that do not reflect who they are.
A child of God should carry themselves with dignity, humility, confidence, love, integrity, and purpose.
Not because they are better than everyone else—
but because they know whose they are.
