NEVER ALLOW THE DEVIL ROB YOU

I Suffered Migraine

This is how I know the devil robs us of many good things.

There was a season in my university years I’ll never forget.

Out of nowhere, I began experiencing severe headaches—what I later suspected to be migraines. I can’t even tell you exactly when it started. All I remember is the intensity. Some days, I would lie helpless on my bed, unable to move. My head would pound so hard it felt like something was banging from the inside. I would feel drained, weak, and completely worn out.

I noticed a pattern too—stress seemed to trigger it. Sometimes the pain would last just a few minutes, other times close to an hour. It wasn’t frequent enough to push me to the hospital, so I never got an official diagnosis. Instead, I would quietly pray about it… not even intensely, just casually mentioning it to God and moving on.

Life went on.

I Got My Healing During Fellowship

Then one evening, everything changed.

Back in school, I was part of a fellowship—GHAFES (Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students). On that particular day, we had a meeting, and I was seated somewhere in the congregation, just another student in the crowd.

I don’t remember the sermon.

I don’t remember the topic.

But I remember the moment.

The preacher that evening, Reverend Victor Gyabaah, asked us to stand for prayer. As he ministered, he began to walk through the congregation. When he got closer to where I was, he suddenly said:

“The Lord is healing someone of migraine. You don’t even know how it started, but you’ve been experiencing severe pain in your head. The Lord says you are delivered now”.

In that instant, something shifted.

That word was for me.

That was my moment of healing.

And just like that, the migraines were gone.

I Could’ve Missed It

Now imagine this with me…

What if I hadn’t shown up that day?

What if I had decided to stay in my room?

What if something small—offense, tiredness, or even indifference—had kept me away?

Yes, God can reach people anywhere. But in my case, my healing was tied to my presence in that fellowship.

And that’s when I began to understand something deeply:

One of the enemy’s greatest strategies is to keep you away from fellowship.

He whispers things like:
• “Stop going to that church.”
• “That person offended you.”
• “You don’t need anyone—you can worship God on your own.”

Before long, bitterness creeps in. You’re not just upset with people—you’re disconnected entirely. Even the idea of church begins to irritate you.

But what you may not realize is this:

It’s not just about the people.

It’s about what you’re missing.

In fellowship, there is:
• Divine encounters
• Healing
• Deliverance
• The tangible presence of God
• An atmosphere where God moves in powerful ways

The Bible says, “Where two or more are gathered in My name, I am there with them.” Yes, God is with you personally—but there is something unique, something powerful, about gathered believers.

I am living proof of that.

My healing didn’t happen during a special healing service.

It happened in a regular fellowship meeting—on an ordinary day I simply chose to show up.

So if you’re feeling hurt, offended, or tempted to withdraw from church, hear this:

Don’t let the enemy rob you.

Not of your healing.
Not of your breakthrough.
Not of the blessings that come from being in the right place at the right time.

Stay planted.

Stay connected.

Because sometimes, your miracle is waiting in a room you’re thinking of avoiding.
