WE ARE LOSING OUR DESIRES

PART 2

Because desires are powerful, they are able to inform most of the decisions we make, so most of us are a result of our desires (Proverbs 4:23). When we are able to attain our desires, we become happy and feel a sense of fulfilment in life but if the opposite happens, it can also make us frustrated, unhappy and exhausted. Some people with uncontrolled emotions may even fall into depression; another reason to control your desires.

But without desires, we will have no passion and interest for life and we become too tired to pursue the things we once loved. This is because without desire, there will be no hunger.

I have personally come to the understanding that desires fade when it isn’t cultivated. When it isn’t given the intentionality it needs, if there are other opposing desires and if it isn’t fed well, it dies.

So we must constantly pursue our godly desires, be intentional about the atmosphere we create around us, feed it with the word of God and build our spirit man to be able to fight against opposing desires and renew our minds daily to stay focused (Proverbs 4:25).

Now I’ll need you to strictly guard your desires, because the bible says in the last days the love of many will go cold, people will become lovers of themselves and money (Mathew 24:12). This is as a result of misplaced desires and Christians must be very careful. Because it may start with just losing desires for things we usually and before you know it all your desires for God just becomes cold. Before we know it; we no longer desire the assembly of the saints, we no longer desire the things of God. Because we gradually and slowly developing new desires that may not for now look like opposing desires. We have become too tired of the godly desires and we slowly slip into the enemy’s trap. See the last days will not just happen it will be a gradual process and may take you by surprise. Guard your heart!
