I am getting tired and scared of all that is happening in our world today.
The pain, the grief, the wickedness and generally how unfair this life is.
I have questioned God so many times. I’ve asked Him questions like;
Why don’t you just make all this go away?
Why don’t you stop all of this?
why, why, why??
But I’ve learnt better – It is better to ask God for help than to question Him.
THE 1 CAUSE OF IT ALL
What do you think is the cause of all the problems in this world?
The gruesome murders and deaths, the incurable diseases and the wickedness of man, all of this, where is it coming from?
Many people are afflicted in so many ways and sometimes this leaves us in fear as you keep looking over your shoulders for what it is to come next. There is no peace in this world.
In the beginning, it wasn’t like this; but then came sin.
Genesis chapter 2 and 3 recalls a wonderful relationship Adam had with God and how this wonderful relationship was destroyed.
The peace that was there before was broken because of just 1 thing – SIN.
Immediately sin entered the equation, peace vanished(Genesis 3:9-10).
Obviously sin and peace can’t cohabit and if we want peace at all, we may have to choose to do away with sin.
I can boldly say sin is the 1 cause of our tears and problems
If the introduction of sin brought separation from God and peace, then I can boldly tell you that sin is the 1 reason behind out many cries; Our pain, grief and broken world.
and as we continue to sin and live in gratifying the desires of our flesh, then sin will continue to reign and bring death(James 1;14-15).
Sin has a way of growing from desires, then to destruction.
I know we most times blame the devil. But the devil is the sin we keep committing.
so what now?
Sin has to go. We must submit ourselves to Christ. We must preach Christ. It may seem like an insignificant thing to do but that’s the only way out.
Christians must truly repent and live in holiness. So we can influence others to do same.
A pastor once said, that wicked armed robber disturbing you may have not become one if he was evangelised to long before. Because we fail to evangelise, many people are left at the mercy of sin and the ruler of this world and sin keeps increasing.
don’t be deceived; God can not be mocked. A man reaps what he sows; whoever sows to please the flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction- Galatians 6:7-8
and remember this- sin is like sowing seeds; you eventually harvest trouble from it.
